Responsible Gaming

Gambling is paid entertainment. Over time every casino game pays back less than it takes in, so it cannot work as a way to earn money or to fix money problems. Decide in advance how much time and money a session is worth to you, and stop when you reach it.

If play starts to cost more than you planned, or to affect your family, work or sleep, the tools on this page let you slow down or stop, and free help is a phone call away.

Personal Limits

Your account has limits you can switch on at any time under Account › Limits. Setting them before you start playing works better than setting them in the middle of a session, when the session is choosing for you. Lowering a limit takes effect straight away. Raising or removing one only takes effect after a waiting period, so the decision is not made on impulse.

Deposit Limit

Caps how much you can pay in over a period. You choose the amount for:

  • a day;
  • a week;
  • a month.

With a daily limit of R500, for example, the cashier refuses any deposit that would take that day's total above R500.

  • A lower limit applies immediately.
  • A higher limit needs confirmation by email and starts only when the current period ends.

Loss Limit

Caps how much of your deposited money you can lose in:

  • a day;
  • a week;
  • a month.

The limit counts losses of money you paid in, not of winnings. Say you deposit R1,000 and set a daily loss limit of R200. Once you are R200 down on that deposit, play stops for the day. If you first win R5,000, the limit still protects the R1,000 you deposited, and you can only lose R200 of it that day.

Betting Limit

Caps the total amount you can stake in:

  • a day;
  • a week;
  • a month.

With a daily bet limit of R2,000, once your bets that day add up to R2,000 no further bets are accepted until the next day, whether those bets won or lost.

Cooling-Off

A short break of 24 hours, a week or a month. During the break you cannot deposit, play or receive bonus offers, but you can still log in to withdraw your balance. The account opens again automatically when the break ends. A break cannot be shortened once it has started.

Self-Exclusion

For a longer stop: six months, a year, five years or permanently. You can request it in the cashier or through support. While you are excluded:

  • you cannot log in or play;
  • no deposits are accepted;
  • you receive no marketing messages from us.

Before the exclusion starts, withdraw any balance, or ask support at support@springbokcasino.top to pay it out to you. Verification may be needed for that payout. A self-exclusion cannot be lifted early. When the period ends, the account stays closed until you ask for it to be reopened, and we may wait 24 hours before doing so.

Session Limit

Sets how long you can play in one session, from 15 minutes up to 24 hours. A reminder appears shortly before the time is up, and when it runs out you are logged out. Shortening the limit works at once. Lengthening it needs email confirmation.

Help from Third-party

Signs that it is time to talk to someone: chasing losses with bigger bets, playing with money meant for bills, borrowing to deposit, or hiding how much you play. These organisations help for free and are independent of any casino:

  • South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF): free, confidential counselling line 0800 006 008, open 24 hours, and treatment referrals across the country. responsiblegambling.org.za
  • Gambling Therapy: free online support and chat in several languages, run by the Gordon Moody charity. gamblingtherapy.org

You can also ask our support team to set a limit or exclusion for you if you would rather not do it yourself.

Protection of Minors

Nobody under 18 may open an account or play at Springbok Casino. We check date of birth against an identity document before any withdrawal, and close accounts belonging to minors.

If children use your phone or computer:

  • do not save your casino password in the browser on a shared device, and log out after playing;
  • turn on the parental controls built into Android (Google Family Link), iPhone (Screen Time) or Windows (Microsoft Family Safety);
  • consider filtering software that blocks gambling sites, such as Net Nanny or Gamban.
